Declare : Post of some mad hope
From the guy who sang/wrote some of my favorite tunes such as “I saw” , “Then I’ll be smiling”, “weight of it all” , “heartbreak world” and “All we are”, Matt Nathanson’s independent music revolves around “peace, struggle, faith and human’s inner endeavor in finding clarity in his everyday life”. sometimes I use some lyrics of his songs as an advice when I’m dealing with some problems.
Some of guitar arrangements are one of a kind, varies from easy listening up to head banging tunes. His first single here in the Philippines was “Come on get higher”, and if my memory serves me right, it was launched in Jam 88.3 fm last year, I think, sometime in July or August.
Good thing I got a chance to have two of his albums “Some Mad Hope” and “Beneath these fireworks”.
I think someone would give him a chance to distribute his albums more widely because his music are already mature for the genre like Teitur, Jamie Scott and the Town, Just Jack and Howie Day.
Sadly Philippines only heard his “Come on get higher”, even though it got some votes in airplay, a successor was not been played. So some thinks he’s one of those “one hit wonder” artists. But the truth is, he’s one of those artist that’s too busy touring the US, too busy to make another album.
well, for further reference (naks!) here’s some info about him and his works. (check out if you heard some of his songs featured in your favorite TV show episode)
(by the way, if you have his first four albums, please let me know, share it to the world! hehehehe :))
