Hello there.
Amherst Ureiqn here. I’m a kid, conspiracy theorist by heart, blogger when in trance, sketches when inspired. A self-taught 2D / flash animator and video editor. Trying to be a photographer, sometimes a cook, frustrated beat-boxer and ventriloquist.
I believe that History Channel polluted my way of thinking, that God is everywhere and I’ll be a gazillionaire someday. I believe in Karma, 1990’s is the best era and there’s 20% that someday I can be a ninja (20% is better than nothing, I guess).
I used to write Tagalog short stories way way back highschool, primarily about my pals , our imaginative classroom settings and some what-ifs. But it was changed when I got into college, I started writing full length Tagalog novels for my bookworm pals and myself. As long as I can remember, I’m comfortable writing in English but I don’t know what got into me that made me reluctant doing so. I lost my senses as I can’t write in English no more. Until recently it came to me why not open a blog account and conquer my fear and milk the site’s advantages. (so apologies for my bad grammar hehe :D)
The French film “Amelie” inspired me also to write and keep this journal alive. I want to leave a mark for my family, both living in the present and future.
Fast facts : Paper and woodcrafts makes me smile. Everything made from potatoes is my comfort food. Beaded Bracelets are the only accessories I want to wear. Allergic to the aroma of wet metal, ant bites and sadly, shrimps.
Watching Chuck made me love again. Yvonne Strahovski is my ultimate crush. Sara Bareilles, Mandy Moore and the Weepies keeps me sane, Marianas Trench made me happy and Chico and Delamar taught me to laugh. Reading random blogs made me pursue my ultimate dream : to be a backpacker traveling around the world 😀
My influences are Steven Spielberg, Akira kurosawa, Miyazaki and his Studio Ghibli, people at Studio Gainax, , my father and some freakin’ monsters under my bed.
Born September 14, 1987, had my grade school in Mary Immaculate Learning Center, finished my high school in First City Providential College [batch 2004 | formerly FHLA / FHC ] and pursued Bachelor in Broadcasting in Polytechnic University of the Philippines. I’m currently taking up my masters degree in Mass Communication, specialization in journalism at PUP Graduate School.
And oh by the way : if our path crossed, please don’t bother ask me “why Amherst Ureiqn?” I promise you it’ll be awkward for the both of us. Just giving you a heads up 😀
